Downloading on Mac: Rar unpack into not usable Exe file

When I download a Rar file sabnzbd or Unison unpacks this file to a EXE file. Om my Mac I cannot use exe-files.
So I cannot unpack / use my downloaded files.
What can i  do to unpack rar-files int usable files ?

So, you can't use .exe files on your mac? Does that mean it was not actually meant for a mac?
